Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Coached throughout most of their existence by 1941 Stanley Cup champion Terry Reardon, the Baltimore Clippers played in the AHL from 1962 until 1976, with a final season in the Southern Hockey League, in 1976-77. A number of notables have donned the Clippers sweater, including Doug Harvey, Jacques Plante and Jean Ratelle. We have a photo-matched Baltimore jersey worn by Moe St Jacques in 1972-73, his only season with the club, where he appeared in 49 games. Void of any collar tagging and with a laundering label affixed to the inside hem, the vintage durene jersey measures-out to approx a modern size 46. Styled with “Clippers” placed diagonally across the chest in individual black-over-orange tackle twill letters, “11” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with visible traces left of “St Jacques” over the upper reverse.
Displaying nicely with just a few random marks, a number of team repairs are present, with 4 over the front, 15 over the reverse (many of these repairs are over the upper section of the removed “St Jacques”), a pair on the right sleeve and 4 on the left. An included 8” x 10” photo has been perfectly matched to the particular placement of the numbers on the sleeves; the numbers on the right sleeve are placed lower than those on the left sleeve.
