Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

Led by team captain Hooley Smith, the Montreal Maroons finished second overall in the Canadian Division at the conclusion of the 1934-35 NHL campaign, and after vanquishing both the Black Hawks and Rangers, they battled the formidable Toronto Maple Leafs for the coveted Stanley Cup. A best of five final, the Leafs were no match for the Anglophone Montreal club, with the Maroons sweeping the regular-season champions, all while never losing a single contest throughout the playoffs. We have a highly collectible Montreal Forum program from the Cup-clinching Game 3. Held on April 9th, the 40-page program features an intact line-up, with Hainsworth and Connell listed as the netminders, with a number of period hockey ads within including from companies Spalding, CCM and Coca-Cola.
There a few condition issues along with general moderate handling wear, with paper loss on the cover, a few heavy creases on the back cover and considerable spine wear including a tear from the bottom that rises to the first staple. The interior pages also show additional wear, with toning as well as a few dog-eared pages, creases and a tear along the bottom of page 8. Despite the condition problems, the publication remains complete and intact, and displays well.
