Russian superstar Alex Ovechkin was wearing this photo-matched Washington Capitals captain’s jersey when he became the team’s all-time leader in power-play goals in 2013-14, a season that saw him score 51 goals for the fourth of his record eight Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy wins. This spectacular red Capitals game-worn jersey is matched to three Getty Images photos of Ovechkin during his four-goal game against Tampa Bay on December 10, 2013, when he scored two power-play goals to overtake Peter Bondra as Washington’s all-time leader. There are three fight straps, including two customized-additions on either side of the original in the middle of the back. A team repair on the right sleeve and black marks on the front left tail are among the photo-matches from Ovi’s four-goal game. Comes with an LOA.
There are three team repairs on the lower left sleeve and more game wear includes pilling inside the rear tail, a vertical mark on the upper right breast near the sleeve seam, board burns on the sleeves,
A Size 58 flag tag hangs in the back of the neck and MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2013-2014 Season patch sewn inside the rear tail has registry no. K00228. According to the MeiGray Population Report this is a "Red Set 1 w/C" jersey.
Ovechkin’s 2013-14 Capitals game-worn captain’s jersey is photo-matched to Getty Images #455591589 taken during his four-goal game against Tampa Bay on December 10, 2013 by the partially washed-out black marks to the right of the No. 8 on the right sleeve. The small loose thread in the lower portion of that same No. 8 on the right sleeve is visible, as is the small fabric pull below the "T" of Capitals on the front of the jersey.
The jersey is also photo-matched to Getty Images #455591655 taken on December 10, 2013 to the team repair on the lower right sleeve, and to Getty Images #454960807 taken on December 10, 2013 to the series of black marks on the lower left front of the jersey.
