The Montreal Canadiens' record holder for most goals in a season by a defenceman, Guy Lapointe scored over 600 points during his lengthy HOF career, and was named to an NHL All-Star team four times from 1973 to 1977. From his second appearance at the NHL’s best-on-best showcase, we have a Wales Conference jersey worn by the six-time Stanley Cup champion at the 1975 NHL All-Star Game. The collar retains its Gerry Cosby tagging, with the garment measuring-out across the reverse to roughly a size 52. Featuring an embroidered NHL shield crest, “55” appears over the sleeves and verso in orange-over-black tackle twill, with “Lapointe” affixed to the upper reverse in individual black letters with orange accent threading.
The sweater also sports additional NHL shields over each breast, with a white star adhered between the sleeve’s black striping bands, along with another half dozen matching examples evenly spaced across the front and reverse lower band. In gorgeous condition with the material supple and the colours all remaining bold, just a few minor stains are visible, beneath the team crest, over the lower front hem and near the right elbow.
