Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Featuring the men that tend NHL creases, we have a collection of signed goalie memorabilia totaling seven items, with signed jerseys, sticks, a mask and 16” x 20” photo. First, we have a trio of jerseys, with examples autographed by Ed Giacomin (Rangers XL), Bernie Parent (Flyers L) and Gerry Cheevers (Bruins XL), with each featuring the respective player’s name over the reverse. All three have signed within the reverse numbers (minimal bleeding to each), adding their HOF induction year, with JSA stickers affixed beneath (the Cheevers and Giacomin have full JSA certs, the parent has a Basic Certification). Next, the sticks include a Cooper Super Lite model signed across the blade by HOF legends Glenn Hall and Johnny Bower both in dark blue marker, along with a Sher-Wood PMPG 530 Grant Fuhr model signed by the five-time Stanley Cup champion across the blade in black ink. Both sticks show just light handling wear, with the signatures displaying well. This is followed by a quality replica mask made by Mikula, signed in blue marker over the right side, with “1st Game” and “1st s/o” added over the left. The original box is included along with a small base to display. Lastly, the 16” x 20” photo feature’s the famous “stitches” mask of Gerry Cheevers, with the Bruins’ legend signing in silver over the bottom left, adding “HOF 85” and “Stanley Cup 70-72” over the bottom right. The signature and inscription stand out nicely against the black background, with just light wear to the photo itself.
