Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

The Quebec Nordiques netminder throughout the club’s tenure in the WHA, Richard Brodeur is best known for backstopping the Vancouver Canucks, spending eight seasons on the West Coast. We have a team-signed stick used by the WHA Hall of Fame inductee during the 1984-85 NHL season, his fifth in Vancouver. A Louisville 2625 model in Canucks colours, “Brodeur R” is stamped vertically over the upper shaft (partially tape covered), with the original white tape in place over the blade, paddle, handle and knob, with a date stamp of "Feb-6 1985" visible on the underside of the shaft. Nice game use is exhibited, with puck marks over the now slightly yellowing blade tape, with a fairly larger section chipped away from the top edge of the lower paddle. Approx 18 have signed one side of the shaft in a mix of black marker and ballpoint, including Brodeur, along with Smyl, Lanthier, Lidster, Skriko and others. Many of the ballpoint signatures are small and heavily faded, with some bleeding into the material of the black marker examples.
