The late Gary Carter stepped right into the TV broadcast booth after his legendary career as one of baseball’s greatest catchers. Carter, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003, joined the TV broadcast crew of the Florida Marlins and served as an analyst for four years, from the expansion team’s inaugural 1993 season through 1996. We have a collection of 6 Marlins jackets (5 different) and 2 pair of windbreaker pants, with each signed “Gary Carter – Broadcaster – 1993-1996” in black marker within the interior. First, we have a pair of matching solid white nylon button-up Starter jackets with affixed tackle twill team crests (one size “S”, one size “M”), a teal nylon button-up Starter jacket with large “Marlins” in script across the chest (size “XL”), two different teal zipper-up Starter windbreaker jackets with tackle twill crests (both size “XL”) and a thin teal Diamond Collection windbreaker jacket with small team crest (size “XL”). The pants include two different pairs of teal Starter windbreaker pants (both size “XL”), with one having an affixed team logo. Most of the clothing remains in very good condition with light wear, with just the odd small stain or mark. The signatures all display well, with some minor bleeding into the material.
