Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
A promotion to entice hockey-centric Montreal fans to purchase their liquor, Distillers Corporation Ltd issued mini player-picture hockey sticks in 1928-29 to hock their Green Stripe and Old Mull Whiskey, as well as their Vicker’s and Burnett’s London Dry Gins. 12” in length and constructed of cardboard, each exceedingly rare stick features the brand’s name over the shaft, and player’s name and circular affixed photo over the blade. Produced in four colours with each brand differing, we have a Vicker’s London Dry Gin Sylvio Mantha stick, with this particular brand sold in blue. An as-issued punched hole is present over the top section, with the text surviving wonderfully, and just minimal wear to the affixed image.
There is some color loss along edges and creasing and surface wear over the reverse, with the stick surviving admirably, ready for prominent display.
