Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Red, white and BLUE! The color scheme of the seats at the old Montreal Forum reflected the famous team colors as evidenced by this single blue seat, which was removed from the famous arena’s upper level after the final game was played there on March 11, 1996. At 34” in height, the original number “1” remains stenciled in white on the seat back along with a large “B”, with a CH decal and the seat number, row and section where it was located. The silver-finished legs/stanchions both sport embossed red Habs logos with “1924-96”, with two 24” metal runners on each side serving as a base. Also included with the seat, we have a Maurice Richard-signed Prudential print, 3 pennants/banners, 4 Habs pucks and a pair of bobble heads. A COA from the original Forum auction will accompany for the seat.
The chair’s seat back has wear to the paint, especially along the bottom and top edges, with blue paint in spots covering the silver legs. There are also a few dents to the bottom of the metal seat, along with a few small areas of paint loss. The additional items include 5 Prudential hockey prints including a pair featuring Richard with 1 signed in blue marker. The bobble heads were produced by Metro, with examples for Jean Beliveau and Guy Lafleur, with the original boxes included, with wear to each bobble head and box. The pennants include a single large Habs example, along with small “Opening Night Molson Center” and Gainey retirement banners. The pucks include 1 for the Forum, 1 for the 2009 Centennial game and a pair for the inaugural match at the Molson Center in 1996.
