Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A witness to the endless parade of fans cheering for the Bleu BLANC rouge, the color scheme of the seats at the old Montreal Forum reflected the famous team’s colors as evidenced by this single white seat, which was removed from the iconic arena after the final game was played there, on March 11, 1996. The original number “14” remains stenciled in red on the seat back along with the row and section numbers, with a Habs team decal added over the upper right. Additional Canadiens’ logos in solid red sit embossed on each of the lower supports, with “1924-1996” beneath, with the chair’s total height just over 34”. A COA from the original Forum auction in 1996 is included, along with the bill of sale.
Showing significant use, the metal seat bottom is slightly bent with a few dents present, with the seat operating fine and sitting flush. There is a tear with some material lose to the grey seat cushion, with additional wear and marks to the seat rest including paint lose over the lower reverse and along the top edge.
