Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner in 1993, Pierre Turgeon spent almost two decades in the NHL, skating for six different clubs throughout his career, with appearances made at five NHL All-Star Games. We have a Montreal Canadiens captain’s jersey worn by the star during the mid-1990s. A size “54” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic Habs CH team crest, “77” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue layered tackle twill, with “Turgeon” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. We should note that Turgeon starting wearing the captain’s “C” after former captain Mike Keane was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, on December 6, 1995, up to early-on in the 1996-97 season before being traded to the St Louis Blues, on October 29, 1996.
Exhibiting nice use, large stick marks are present over the lower front and sleeves, with some pilling along the collar and beneath the fight strap. There are also board burns and small holes over each sleeve.
