Heavily collected and ideal for display, we have a collection of 1930s CCM team and player pictures totaling 17 and measuring approx 8 3/4" x 11 1/2", with examples from each of the blue, green and brown-border series. Included, we have 9 team pictures from the brown border set issued in 1933-34 including the Red Wings, Rangers, Americans, Leafs, Maroons and contemporary Stanley Cup champion Black Hawks, as well as Moncton, St Michael’s and Providence. This is followed by 5 examples from the green border set issued in 1934-35, with team pictures for Winnipeg and the then-current Cup holder Montreal Maroons, as well as individual pictures for Frank Boucher, Charlie Conacher and Lorne Chabot. Lastly, we have a trio of pictures from the blue border issue in 1935-36, with examples for the 1936 Stanley Cup champion Red Wings, along with the Detroit Olympics and West Toronto Nationals. The majority are in pleasing condition and display well despite lower technical grades, with some toning, edge, surface and corner wear. The exceptions include the brown border Wings and St Michael’s pictures, with both sporting small edge tears, the brown border Maroons, which exhibits a large crease, the Chabot and Conacher, which both have heavier wear including to the corners – with the latter also have a few small edge tears, and finally, the Boucher, with a few pinholes present.
