Currently serving as sports director for EHC Visp of the Swiss League, Alexei Kovalev is a veteran of 18 NHL seasons, with over 1300 games-played. A Stanley Cup winner with the Rangers in 1994, the Russian star has also appeared for Pittsburgh, Florida, Ottawa and Montreal. We have a photo-matched Canadiens jersey that was worn by Kovalev during the 2006-07 NHL season. A size “58” CCM label is affixed to the collar with handwritten “2”, with Reebok and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring the famous CH team crest partially-embroidered, the “Home Set 2” V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Kovalev” across the nameplate in single white twill. A MeiGray patch numbered “D00629” sits on the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a “Red Set 2” example.
With a cut and removed fight strap, game use includes a small stick mark across the team crest, with a few additional marks and faint board burns over each sleeve. There are also a few other burns visible over the left shoulder, with small slits along the bottom hem. Getty Image #72965454 from Jan 2 2007 has been matched to the black stick mark in the upper area of the team crest.
