Inducted into the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2012 and number #12 on the league's all-time points list, Larry Lund spent his entire career in a Houston Aeros jersey and was a two-time Avco Cup champion, with his best season occurring in 1974-75 when his 108-points topped all teammates, including Gordie Howe. This Aeros jersey was worn by the Penticton native in 1977-78, his final season of competitive hockey. Sporting Stall & Dean and laundering labels affixed to the collar along with a “7” year tag with “54” sizing handwritten, the vintage durene knit feature’s “Aeros” placed diagonally across the chest in stylized individual white-over-blue tackle twill letters, with “13” over the sleeves and verso in matching material. A garter-style fight strap has also been utilized. Noteworthy as the club that coaxed Mr Hockey out of retirement thus allowing the aging superstar to play with his sons, this rare style Aeros jersey worn by one of the league’s all-time greatest is a paramount specimen.
Exhibiting a few dark marks over the team crest letters and lower front, there are a few faint burns and scuffs over each sleeve, with a few very small and minor stains over the front band. Overall, the jersey remains in beautiful condition.
