Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
An inaugural member of the Philadelphia Flyers in 1967, John Miszuk spent considerable time in professional hockey, appearing for numerous NHL and WHA clubs including the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Calgary Cowboys and Michigan Stags. We have a Calgary Cowboys jersey that was worn by the Belarusian in 1975-76, his first of two seasons in Cowtown. A mostly detached Maska label is situated over the inner collar, with the durene sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 48. Styled with a layered tackle twill team crest, “23” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with a pair of team logos over each shoulder. A loop-style fight strap has been utilized along with a tie-neck collar, and we should note that the nameplate is a modern replacement, as these jerseys were originally recycled and used by the Kamloops Cowboys.
Exhibiting considerable use with marks, scrapes and small holes over the lower front, both hems over the cuffs have become somewhat unraveled, with larger holes on each lower sleeve along with a tear to the left cuff.
