Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Cards of goaltenders, particularly a couple of better known netminders, are the coolest to check out among these intriguing scarcities, the purplish-tinted affairs featuring players who toiled in the lower St. Lawrence River region for senior teams located in Matane, Mont-Joli, Riviere-du-Loup and Rimouski, Quebec. All are encapsulated by SGC, with notables being goalies Denis Brodeur, (father of NHL record-holder Martin Brodeur) and Marcel Paille (of New York Rangers fame), as well as Gerry Plamondon, a senior scoring star and until his death earlier this year, the oldest living former Montreal Canadien, who helped the Habs to the Stanley Cup in 1945-46. The Paille example is one of 18 condition leaders at 50 VG/EX 4, while Brodeur and Plamondon highlight a group of (30) slabbed 40 VG 3. Others (14) are 30 GOOD 2 examples, with #s 12, 38 and 55 required for a complete set. Old-time Quebec senior hockey!
