Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Considered an action figure despite the packaging moniker of “doll”, we have a trio of Wayne Gretzky dolls in their original boxes, along with all three of the original outfits in their original packaging that were sold separately, with a second sealed Oilers uniform included for a total of four accessory outfits. Produced by Matell in 1983, each of the packages appears complete, with the skates/gloves loose in one box. The accessory outfits appear complete as well, with two Oilers uniforms, a tuxedo and a jogging suit. One of the doll boxes remains in especially pleasing, displayable condition, with minimal wear and bright white cardboard, along with just a few faint blemishes. The remaining two boxes show heavier wear, with some toning/yellowing to the cardboard and wear to the plastic, with a few creases over each box. The accessory outfits all remain sealed on their placards, with some toning to the cardboard along with the odd crease or wrinkle. As an added bonus, a Gretzky pictorial pillow case is included (13” x 15 ½” with a tear over the reverse), along with a “99 Overtime Hockey” pinback (2 ¼” with just light surface wear).
