Jarome Iginla enjoyed a spectacular campaign that would see him share the Rocket Richard Trophy and lead Calgary to the Stanley Cup final when he wore this photo-matched Flames captain’s jersey during the 2003-04 season. Iginla’s hard work is written in the black marks all over the front of this gamer, which has a team repair surrounded by red paint transfer above the “C” on the left breast, with a size 56 flag tag in the back of the collar. There is another team repair on the left sleeve, this one with a fabric patch inside. NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2003-2004 Season sewn inside the rear tail has registry number “B02000” that corresponds to the accompanying LOA, with the MeiGray Population report stating that the jersey is a "White 1st Regular Season w/C" example.
More game wear includes black marks and board burns on the sleeves, including blue paint transfer on the left sleeve. Getty Image #2864463 from November 12th 2003 has been matched to the big black diagonal mark on the lower right portion of the team crest, and to a small black mark on the interior of the team crest, while Getty Image #2784520 from Dec 4th has been matched to the marks in the upper area of the #1 on the back of the jersey.
Iginla made his third straight of six All-Star Game appearances and was named to the NHL Second All-Star Team in 2003-04. He also won the NHL Foundation Player Award, the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, led the league with 10 game-winning goals, and led all playoff scorers with 13 goals. He capped his spectacular year with a gold medal win with Team Canada at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
