Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

A swell background design and a star-studded lineup are featured in Parkhurst's 1961-62 hockey card effort, with 21 players elected to the Hall of Fame following their careers. Looking piece-together, with varying degrees of toning observed, this ensemble is dominated by crease-free EX-or-better examples, with however an otherwise EX-MT Dave Keon rookie card lowered by a dime-size blotch of paper loss on the reverse, where there is evidence of a "rubbed" punch line. Similar "rubbing" is evident on six others but all are commons. Condition highlights and notables include appealing bright/white NM cards of HOFers 3-Bower (ST), 25-Delvecchio, 27-Gadsby and 43-Richard (OC), while close at EX-MT or EX-MT+ are 20-Howe, 26-Ullman, 31-Sawchuk, 45-Beliveau and 49-Plante. A small light crease affect but four cards (#s 4, 8, 13, 29), sending them to VG or VG+. Overall, quite attractive Parkies should please their new owner.
A noticeable one-inch horizontal surface scratch is observed on the off-centered #1 card of Tim Horton (from the bridge of his nose to the left edge), with the rest mostly in the EX and EX+ realm, with a few of them making it to EX-MT.
