Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Looking quite appealing in nine-pocket pages is this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee set, with random pulls and the inspection of star/key cards confirming that the ensemble boasts a majority of EX-MT-or-better examples. We do spot some lightly dinged corners and EX and EX+ cards, including some of the stars, but those tend to be 1st series representatives, with a small percentage of VG-EXs. Dominating 2nd and 3rd series cards are NM-or-better cards that are nice and "flat" and crisp, with numerous apparent grading possibilities, although again, we have not examined each card. Notables/exceptions include the smallest/subtlest of creases in the #336-Bobby Hull, with three (unmarked) checklists being #6 (EX), 19 (VG-EX) and 190 (NM (OC)). One(!) darkened box to report with #334B (otherwise EX), with some erased pencil marks on 334A (o/w VG-EX). Hall of Famers, stars, commons and those challenging original WHA cards will be a treat to check out when this assembly arrives.
One notable card to upgrade is #169-NHL Action (Ken Hodge) which has "48" in blue ink on the reverse.
