The Anaheim Mighty Ducks hit the jackpot in the 2003 NHL Draft when they selected future captain Ryan Getzlaf 19th overall in addition to Corey Perry with the 28th pick. Getzlaf’s 2005-06 Mighty Ducks game-worn jersey is photo-matched to his rookie campaign the season before he and Perry helped Anaheim claim the Stanley Cup. Comes with a team LOA with MeiGray registry no. C00312, which corresponds to the MeiGray tagging sewn inside the rear tail and states this is a “White Set 1 jersey.” The Ducks wore these jerseys from Oct. 14-Nov. 30, 2005 as well as for preseason games. Getzlaf’s jersey is photo-matched to a preseason game on Sept. 24 by the white marks on the jade fabric low on the left sleeve.
The photo match is Getty Images #55765882 taken on September 24, 2005. Size 58 flag tag is in the back of then neck. Getzlaf wore #51 during his rookie season with the Mighty Ducks, his familiar No. 15 being already worn by Joffrey Lupul. Getzlaf switched to No. 15 the following season when the team was rebranded the Anaheim Ducks with a new color scheme and logo. Game wear includes a small blue mark on the left upper back, a small black mark on the front of the upper left sleeve, and black marks on the back of the right sleeve.
