Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The first professional sports team in Colorado to win a championship, the Denver Spurs were formed in 1968 and played in the WHL, with the club transferring to the CHL beginning in 1974-75. From their lone season winning the WHL championship in 1972, we have a ring that was presented by team coach and longtime NHL star Jean-Guy Talbot to his wife. A size 5 ½ women’s ring with an approx weight of 4 grams, an orange oval stone is mounted, with “Denver Spurs WHL Champions” encompassing in raised letters. One shank has “72” engraved, with the initials “PT” in fancy script engraved on the other, with 10K stamped on the inner band. Exhibiting light wear over the band from use, the ring displays beautifully.
