Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A Stanley Cup finalist with the Calgary Tigers in 1924, Harry Oliver would go on to win Lord Stanley’s hardware with the Boston Bruins in 1929, with HOF enshrinement occurring in 1967. We have a signed 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings card of the Selkirk native, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed in fountain pen to the right of his image, the signature displays especially well, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear as well as staining along the top border. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with glue residue along with some of the text missing from prior scrapbook removal. Oliver would pass in his home town of Selkirk in 1985, he was 86.
