Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
An important component of the fabled Ottawa Senators throughout the teens and into the 1920s, Punch Broadbent was traded in 1924, becoming an inaugural member of the Montreal Maroons, leading the fledgling club to its first Stanley Cup championship the following season. We have a custom-made card featuring an attractive signature cut from Broadbent, and it’s been encapsulated as “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. The well-designed card features pertinent career information listed on verso, but we must report that the image used on the front of the card is actually Bullet Joe Simpson, with this error doing nothing to diminish the large and flowing black ballpoint signature. Broadbent received enshrinement in 1962, passing less than a decade later, in 1971.
As mentioned, there are no issues for the signature, with some wear and scratches to the PSA holder.
