Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Tempting T206 offering here is a colorized depiction of longtime Chicago Cubs' shortstop Joe Tinker, one third of the club's renowned double play combination which included Johnny Evers and France Chance. The trio were part of the Chicago dynasty that won four National League pennants and two World Series between 1906 and 1910. An excellent fielder who often led the N.L. in various statistical categories and a speedy runner (averaging 28 steals a season), Tinker also was a noted fighter, even fighting teammate Evers on the field(!) in 1905, with the two reportedly not speaking to one another for years. PSA stats for this inviting EX-MT 6 Tinker "portrait" variation with an Old Mill back are as follows: It's a Pop 28 with only a small percentage of the 630 total submissions earning a higher grade; eight NM-MT 8s, (13) NM 7s and three EX-MT+ 6.5s are present on the PSA Population Report. Relished relic awaits your T206 shrine.
