Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Considered by many to be the greatest boxer of the 20th century, Muhammad Ali would compete in a total of 61 career fights, with 56 wins including 37 by KO. We have a signed protest document/letter for the Norwood Peace Action Committee from the early-1970s addressed to President Nixon, along with a media photo from 1972 that picture’s an image of Ali with his first wife in 1964. The 8 ½” x 13 ¾” letter is fully typed, calling on Richard Nixon to end the Vietnam war, with Ali signing on the reverse beneath the text in black ballpoint, with a large and flowing signature. The letter itself exhibits wear, especially along its three fold lines, with some toning and creasing also taking place along with a few faint stains. The 6 ¾” x 8 ½” media photo shows light wear with an affixed portion of the newspaper showing the image along with the particulars, with the date of “Sat Mar 4 1972” stamped in red. An LOA from JSA will accompany for the signature.
