This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A large collection of vintage rubber is offered, with a number of desirable and interesting pucks included, with the focus on the Montreal Canadiens. We have a pair of 1930s NHL Spalding pucks, a pair of 1942-50 NHL Art Ross Tyer pucks, a pair or Canadiens orange rubberized logos pucks, one from 1958-62 (the first pucks to feature team logos) and one not datable due to a worn label. Next, we have a pair of NHL practice pucks with rubberized logos from the early-1960s, and a pair from 1964-67, five 1969-73 Canadiens Converse pucks with rubberized logos, a pair of 1972-75 Canadiens Rawlings pucks, a trio of 1967-68 Converse “Large Font” Habs pucks (all blank-backed), six 1973-83 Montreal Viceroy game pucks with rubberized logos and more!
The remaining pucks include a pair 1970s NHL practice pucks, a few Habs practice pucks and others. Condition ranges within the collection, with moderate wear to one of the Spalding pucks, with one of the labels heavily worn, with heavier wear to the second Spalding, with large chips and slices, with both labels worn/damaged. The 1942-50 Art Ross pucks include one with light wear and a clean label, with light wear to the second puck but heavier wear to the label. The Art Ross Habs pucks both show heavier wear, with glue residue over the Art Ross logo and discolouration on the side of the 1958-62 puck, with the label heavily worn and unreadable – as mentioned – on the second. The 1960s NHL practice pucks all show light to moderate wear, with one having a written notation of “Feb 16, 1960, Ramblers 10 Greensboro 2”, along with one puck having considerable chipping/gouging. Please reference our imagery for a complete analysis of condition within the collection.
