Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
For those who collect the brave men that tend the nets, we have a small blocker/glove collection, with a trapper used by Kirk McLean during his time with Vancouver in the 1990s, along with a blocker and glove combo worn by John Grahame while seeing action with the Lake Superior State Lakers in the late-1990s. First, the McLean glove is a Vaughn “Hand Crafted” Vision T3500 model in royal blue, with “McLean” embroidered, with heavy use exhibited including considerable rubbing to the leather in spots, scuffing and marks to the pocket, salting to the grommets and an area of missing lacing. The Grahame blocker and glove were made by Brian’s and are Air Hook/Airlite models in yellow and blue, with “Grahame #47” embroidered onto the trapper, with an area of ripped threading where it appears to have been originally embroidered into the blocker. The glove shows moderate to heavier use with good wear along the top of the palm, as well as areas of surface loss to the leather. The blocker exhibits puck marks along with fabric tears on and around the fingers, with heavy blue staining to the palm.
