Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

Skating his whole career for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ron Ellis would win a Stanley Cup championship with the Blue and White in 1967, with four All-Star Game appearances made throughout his 16 seasons. We have a stick used by the 1972 Summit Series Team Canada member in 1965-66, and it’s been team-signed by the Leafs. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro, “Ellis” and “8” are stamped to the upper shaft, with the original black tape across the blade and white over the handle. One side of the shaft feature’s a large black marker signature from Ellis along with “Feb. 1966” handwritten, with approx 18 heavily faded green ink signatures on the other side including Sawchuk, Horton, Stanley, Kelly and others.
The remaining signers include Ellis, along with Shack, Douglas, Stemkowski, Rupp and others. The signatures are especially worn/faded, with the Sawchuk and Horton hard to read. Showing moderate use with cracks over the blade, heel and shaft, the stick still displays nicely and remains quite solid.
