Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Playing his first NHL games in 1956-57, Frank Mahovlich concluded his lengthy HOF career in the WHA, playing two seasons with the Toronto Toros (1974-76), followed by a pair of seasons with the Birmingham Bulls (1976-78). This signed stick was used by the six-time Stanley Cup champion during his time in the rebel league. A Victoriaville model with "F Mahovlich" stamped to the upper shaft, the original tape job is in place over the handle, with the blade tape replaced some time after Mahovlich's use. The blue and red striping accent is intact, helping to date the stick. The stick shows light to moderate use with some wear to the underside blade including minor separations at the heel, with a few marks and red paint transfer to the shaft. Mahovlich has signed the upper shaft, adding a personalization.
