Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Accumulation of Topps hockey cards here is admittedly low on highlights and high on low grade examples, with (43) from 1954-55 leading chronologically and followed by (38) ’57-58 entries. A Bobby Hull rookie card is among (40) from ’58-59 and is a hammered, multi-creased (Poor) specimen. Ten attractive EX-MT cards, including 32-Glenn Hall (OC), somehow made their way into a group of (80) from ’59-60. Meanwhile, Poor and Fair cards dominate, with some Gs and VGs spotted, among cards from the 1960s. The totals are: ’60-61 (13), ’61-62 (48), ’62-63 (58), ’63-64 (60), ’65-66 (159), ’66-67 (190)(most with back damage), ’67-68 (38), ‘68-69 (65)(these are condition exceptions with minimal creases and VG-EX and EX cards dominating, but mostly commons). Completing are (28) from ’69-70. Overall, not a heap of stars, but the winning bidder will come across the likes of Howe, Hull, Hall, Mikita, Esposito, Worsley, Bower, Ratelle, Gilbert and other Hall of Famers while sifting through this Topps grab bag.
