Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Mike Gartner's road green North Stars gamer comes from the team’s first set of the 1989-90 season. Tagged in the neck by Maska Air-Knit with the size “52” marked in ink. Game wear consists of two team repairs on right sleeve, one more repair on back, stick marks on the lower front and pilling inside the collar. More use includes scuffs and marks on both sleeves and a swipe of red board paint on the lower back. As expected, the jersey has been hemmed up at the waist to shorten the body and Mike has signed high up on the back shoulder in blue marker. Black block letter CCM logo embroidered onto tail with snap-style fight strap sewn inside. Getty Images #156387593 is showing the long loose thread on the second "1" on the right sleeve but not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match. Mike Gartner came to the North Stars late in 1988-89 and was dealt to the New York Rangers towards the end of the 1989-90 season. Mike’s astounding goals total stands at 708, good for 7th spot on the NHL’s all-time scoring list. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.
