Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Seeing action in six different leagues throughout his career, Sylvain Turgeon was originally drafted 2nd overall by the Hartford Whalers in 1983, named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1983–84. We have a Montreal Canadiens jersey that was worn by the Noranda native in 1990-91, his first of two seasons with the club. A Maska Ultrafil label sits affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 56, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the gorgeous and famous Habs CH team crest fashioned completely from tackle twill, the white V-neck has been embellished with blue sleeve and verso numbers with red trim, with “Turgeon” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. Random marks are present along with board burns over each sleeve, including the left sleeve’s numbers, with some pilling beneath the fight strap and over the left cuff. There is also some paint transfer over each sleeve and the reverse.
