Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Each puck originally distributed by Hockey Diversified could be obtained by mail with the buyer’s choice of team and possibly player. A label was affixed to each puck listing the scorer, team and date, along with a code that divulged which team-goal said puck accounted for. This particular puck was used by legendary HOFer Henri Richard to score the Montreal Canadiens 83rd goal of the season vs the Islanders, at Nassau Coliseum, on Dec 6th 1973. Assisted by fellow HOFer Guy Lapointe, it was The Pocket Rocket’s 6th goal of the season, and 342nd of his impressive 358 career goals. Scored late in the third and Richard’s second point of the contest, the goal served as an insurance marker, with the Habs doubling-up on the Long Islanders on the road, 4-2.
The Canadiens rubberized logo and Goal Puck Program label both remain clean, with just light overall wear to the puck itself.
