Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The highest-scoring left winger in NHL history upon his retirement, Luc Robitaille spent almost two decades in the world’s most competitive league, winning a Stanley Cup as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 2002. The model of stick used by Robitaille in the early-2000s while in Motor City, this particular game-used and signed example was gifted from the superstar directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. An Easton Synergy model, “20 Robitaille” factory graphics are present on the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade and handle intact. Great use is exhibited, with considerable wear to the blade tape along with a few chips to the surface over the heel. There is also red paint transfer along with additional wear to the shaft, especially along edges. Luc has signed across the front side of the taped blade in black marker, leaving an attractive signature. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany.
