Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Featuring part of the only father/son duo in NHL history to each reach 1000 points, we have a signed stick used by HOFer Brett Hull, along with a pair of game-worn gloves. Both items were originally gifted directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. The stick is a mid-1990s Easton Aluminum model with “Hull” stamped on the stem of the inserted Christian blade, with the original tape over the handle. The blade tape was removed, with tape added somewhat later over the toe section. The gloves are Eagle CP94 models in Red Wings colours from circa 2002-03, with “Hull” embroidered over each extended wrist guard. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany.
The stick exhibits light use, with a few marks to the shaft along with specks of red paint transfer over the lower section. Hull has signed across the front side of the blade in black marker, with no issues for the large signature. The gloves have “J.J.C.” embroidered over each cuff, with these the initials of Brett’s children. Scuff marks are visible over each glove, with a single hole over the left glove’s palm. “A” has been handwritten on the right glove, “D” on the left, with the possibility existing that these were not originally a matched pair.
