Oh Canada, is where Babe Ruth hit his first professional baseball home run and where this Neilson’s Chocolate card was issued, coming in with a Neilson’s Big League Bar. It was a 120-card set, highlighted by the Babe, with the photo used taken rather early in Ruth’s tenure with the Yankees. The card design and image are the same as the American Caramel E120 series. Few cards of Ruth date from the early-1920s, with this one relatively affordable, graded PR 1 recently by PSA. A side-to-side diagonal crease through Babe’s chest is most noticeable, with rounded corners and a small stain in the top border also to note. Produced on thin card stock, Neilson’s Chocolate cards are very infrequently found in high grade. Just 15 other Ruth examples have ever been submitted to PSA. Considered by some to be one of the most substantial and overlooked sets from the 1920s is the Neilson’s Chocolate series.
