Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Condition-sensitive is Topps' 1962-63 hockey card effort, with this rather terrific raw stash featuring numerous NM-or-better representatives and hardly a crease to report. An intermittent white spec at a corner or on an edge and not-always-perfect centering are usually the minor flaws detected while admiring the crisp entries. We would however say EX+ or EX-MT for the Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita cards, with a couple of edge notches in each holding them back, while the centered, unmarked checklist is similar with four light corner touches. Future GAG Line mates Vic Hadfield (RC), Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert are notable and EX-MT or EX-MT+, with the rookie card contingent also featuring Bruce Gamble (VG+ due to a subtle small back crease). Bruins and Rangers team cards are NM, with the Black Hawks (VG+) one of four creased cards, the others being 40-Murphy and 49-Neilson RC (both VG+), along with the Gamble. Additional RCs picture Perreault, Maki, Williams, Hall, Balon and even a trainer; New York's Frank Paice. Clean surfaces strike the beholder - few people have ever perused these inviting cards.
