Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Much harder to locate than the extremely popular Spalding examples used by the NHL throughout the 1930s with rubberized crests, this Spalding puck originates from the 1910s and is only predated by a few models by the especially noteworthy producer. Sporting smooth sides with sharp edges; a requirement for pre-Art Ross models, the company’s famous logo is stamped into the side, with this the earlier variation with “AD 1876” as opposed to the slightly later “Made in USA”, with “Official” also stamped. Exhibiting its century plus vintage with stress lines throughout along with small surface and edge chips, the antique puck displays beautifully, and will serve as a considerable rarity within any advanced vintage puck or hockey collection.
