Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Awarded the Art Ross, Hart Memorial and Lester B. Pearson trophies in 1982-83 at a time when his dominance was in full force during the height of his career scoring prowess, we have the puck plotted to give Wayne Gretzky his milestone 100th assist of the 1982-83 NHL season. Hailing from a Feb 27th home contest vs the Winnipeg Jets, the goal was scored by Charlie Huddy and assisted-on by Gretzky at 13:41 of the first period, giving The Great One his 100th, with Jari Kurri also assisting. Now-discoloured tape has been added around the puck, with some of the Oilers logo still visible, with “Gretzky 100th Assist – Huddy’s Gl Ed 1 Wpg 0 1st Pd” handwritten in black ballpoint, along with “17” in blue marker. An important piece of hockey history, Wayne would complete the 1982-83 campaign with 196 points, including 71 goals and 125 assists. An LOA from the Oilers will accompany.
