Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
One of the charter franchises of the National Hockey League and a staple in the league since its inception in 1917, the Toronto Maple Leafs, originally known as the Arenas and the St. Patricks before Conn Smythe settled on their current moniker, have won a total of thirteen (13) Stanley Cups during their history and have retired the use of thirteen (13) numbers in honour of nineteen (19) former players. Hailing from an era of history that saw the franchise win back-to-back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, offered here is this Toronto Maple Leafs Art Ross game puck that was in use during games from 1962 to 1964. Featuring a rubberized orange octagon Art Ross crest on the reverse with matching team crest on the obverse, both of the crests are a bit dirty and toned while both surface sides show some scratches. Also sporting a couple of very small chips/cuts to the side and edges of the surfaces, the puck hails from the personal collection of Pierre Pilote and comes accompanied by a Pilote Family LOA.
