Winning three straight James Norris Trophy’s from 1963-65 as the league’s best defenceman, Pierre Pilote would play 890 games in the NHL, with all but 69 matches played with the Chicago Black Hawk, winning a Stanley Cup with the Windy City club in 1961. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975, offered here we present Pilote's personal "Signature Series Player's Edition" copy of For the Love of Hockey which contains almost 100 signatures. Produced in 1997 by Field of Dreams and the NHLPA, the desirable volume features the personal stories of hockey stars spanning various eras along with the signatures of each of the 92 greats profiled on large colour photo pages. Numbered “065” out of the 100 limited copies, the "Signature Series Players' Edition" set of 100 was produced exclusively for each of the hockey stars who took part in the project. Signers include Pilote (p.139), the Rocket, Beliveau, Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Bourque, Roy and many others, all having been done in beautiful blue or black marker ink that displays without issue. Hailing from the personal collection of Pierre Pilote, a Pilote Family LOA will accompany.
Wayne Gretzky's signature has an Upper Deck Authenticated holofoil (p.70), which corresponds to a UDA certificate of authenticity attached to his bio. Additional signers include Kelly, Geoffrion, Kurri, Lafleur, Howell, Henderson, Sakic, Fuhr, Fetisov, Stastny, Yzerman, Lindsay, Park, Hasek, Lindros, Sittler, Trottier, Ullman and others. The book remains in gorgeous condition aside from a small scratch/dent over the back cover and is accompanied by the original slip case plus the NHLPA letter sent to Pilote along with the book when it was first gifted to him.
