Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Altering the line-up for the second match after the devastating loss in Game 1, a number of Team Canada players were scratched for Game 2 of the 1972 Canada-Russia Series played on Sept 4th at Maple Leaf Gardens, including Ken Dryden, Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. Providing a much stronger effort than in Game 1, the mighty maple leaf was victorious, with the Canadians taking the second match, 4-1. Offered here, we present this pair of original 1972 Canada-Russia Series ticket stubs produced for Game 2 in Toronto. Each measuring out to approximately 1 ¾” x 4 ½”, the desirable stubs lists the game, date, venue and seat, along with the $7.00 cover price, with advertising on the reverse from CCM. Both in overall excellent condition, light toning is observed over each offering along with light creases to the top and bottom edges, light edge and corner wear and a pair of staple holes at the bottom of both stubs, each comes from the personal collection of 1975 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, Pierre Pilote and comes with a Pilote Family LOA.
