The hero of the 1979 Stanley Cup semi-finals, Yvon Lambert scored the overtime winner that eliminated Boston and catapulted the Habs to the finals and ultimately their 4th Stanley Cup championship. We have items from the personal collection of the Drummondville native, including his golf bag and clubs, a vintage scrapbook and framed displays from both the 2003 Heritage Classic along with a multi-signed golf display from the 2000 Bell Nexxia Alumni tournament. The majority of the clubs are Titleist examples, with a few from Callaway, with the bag a special Ben Hogan Spalding model in Habs colours with an embroidered Canadiens logo over the front pocket. In beautiful condition, a plastic tag has been affixed from Club Laval, with the clubs themselves in varying condition showing nice use. The Nexxia display has a number of photos inserted along with a 1978-79 Lambert hockey card, with a plaque along the base listing all of the NHL alumni participants including Lambert, along with Bossy, Dionne, Lafleur, Martin, Perreault, Rousseau, Marotte, Bouchard, Gilbert, Mondou, Richard, St-Laurent, Tremblay, Cournoyer, Goyette, Moore, Robert, Talbot and Henri Richard. Each of these participants has signed in white on the mount except for Tremblay, and the signatures display well. Framed to full dimensions of roughly 26” x 30”, there is some light wear and a few blemishes to the frame. The Heritage Classic display includes a triple-matted photo of Commonwealth Stadium, along with a plaque listing the particulars with a small panorama photo of the teams during the handshake. Framed to full dimensions of approx. 22 ½” x 25”, this frame also exhibits light wear. Lastly, the Habs scrapbook is a tie-bound volume at 12” x 14 ½”, with over 50 pages covered back-to-back with interesting newspaper clippings ranging from the 1950s to late-1960s, with the bulk appearing from circa 1961-62. Highlights include a number of clippings that profile Jacques Plante and his mask circa-1960. In expected mid-grade, the scrapbook shows wear, with varying degrees of condition for the clippings. A signed LOA from Yvon Lambert will accompany these interesting items.
