Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Affectionately referred to as “Chief”, Johnny Bucyk spent an impressive 21 seasons in Massachusetts with the Bruins, the Edmonton native was also named a First Team All-Star in 1971. Originally from Bucyk’s personal collection, we have a stick used by the superstar at the 1970 NHL All-Star Game, and it’s been team-signed by the East Division All-Stars. A Northland Custom Pro Glass Fused model, “Bucyk” and “9” appear stamped on, with additional stamps on each side from Bruins’ supplier Woody Dumart. The original tape is in place over the blade and handle/knob, with Bucyk and 15 others signing the backside of the shaft in black marker including HOFers Giacomin, Orr, Park, Howe, Ratelle, Keon, Hull, Gilbert, Mahovlich and Phil Esposito, along with a few others.
Addendum; Also included is a vintage 1969-70 NHL East Division All-Stars team photo in its presentation folder. The photo is loose in the folder and the mat/folder exhibits some wear and a few creases but overall remains in pleasing condition.
