Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
On their way to achieving what no other professional hockey club on the planet has, the Montreal Canadiens secured their fourth of five consecutive Stanley Cup championships in April of 1959. We have a multi-signed stick from the very season. A Sher-Wood Super Pro model, “Nov” and “1958” appear large - handwritten over the front side of the shaft - with 5 pencil signatures on the opposite side. Included are all HOFers, with Maurice Richard (d-2000), Jacques Plante (d-1986), Dickie Moore (d-2015), Bert Olmstead (d-2015) and Henri Richard, with other signatures visible that have completely worn away. The Rocket remains bold, with the others somewhat lighter, especially the Moore and Pocket Rocket. The stick itself remains solid and in very good condition, with a faint ballpoint notation on the opposite side that appears to list a name with “C.N.R.”.
