Winner of the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy in 1973-74, Jack Valiquette spent the season with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHA, plotting an amazing 63 goals in only 69 regular season games. Valiquette would be selected 13th overall at the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft, spending parts of 7 seasons in the NHL with both Toronto and Colorado. We have a collection of 14 milestone pucks from the Ontario native’s pre-NHL career. Included, we have the pucks Valiquette used to secure his 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th and 63rd goals of the 1973-74 season, along with his 100th and 113th point pucks and hat trick pucks (2) from the same season. There is also a St Mary’s Lincolns puck labeled “1972-73”, along with an additional pair of St Mary’s pucks, a Milton Flyers puck and an Oklahoma City Blazers puck marked “1974-75”. The majority of the pucks show nice use with no obtrusive damage, with most of the milestone pucks exhibiting Greyhounds logos. Most also feature white stick tape added (now yellowed) to list the particular puck’s importance.
