Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
No stranger to attending sporting events, LeRoy Neiman painted scenes from the Olympic Games, World Series, Kentucky Derby and many other notable venues. From a likely visit made by the famous artist to Madison Square Gardens in 1972, we have original artwork from Neiman that has been executed over a printed copy of a roster sheet for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins Stanley Cup finals series in 1972. At approx 8 ½” x 14”, the felt pen artwork features Brad Park laying a devastating hip check, with “Park Hits Busick” (misspelt, for Johnny Bucyk), “1st Period” and “Rangers-Bruins Stanley Cup Playoffs” handwritten. Neiman has signed over the bottom right side in marker, and the signature displays well and exhibits some bleeding. An attractive high quality frame is included (25” x 30”), with the artwork removed from said frame to authenticate, with an image of the artwork superimposed over the frame for the purpose of the catalog imagery. The frame and artwork will be sent separately.
