Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The first Canadian football championship team west of Ontario, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were originally formed as the Winnipeg Football Club – still the team’s current legal name – in 1930, with more Grey Cup appearances than any other club. We have a Bombers jersey that was worn by star linebacker Doug Hocking in the mid-1990s. A Starter label with “L” sizing sits affixed to the collar, with a second label along with a “93” year swatch and size “48” fly tag over the lower front tail. Styled with rubberized Bombers logos over the sleeves along with blue and gold striping bands, “38” appears over the front, sleeves and verso, with “Hocking” across the nameplate in blue heat-pressed vinyl letters. With moderate wear to the identifiers along with blue paint transfer over the shoulders, there is also some faint staining over the lower front along with additional staining/discolouration to each sleeve’s cuff. Canadian born, Hocking spent 12 seasons in the CFL, appearing for both the Bombers and BC Lions.
