Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Celebrating the historically important and highly collected Summit Series, we have a multi-signed first day cover framed display along with a multi-signed Team Canada jersey, with both items hailing from the personal collection of Yvan Cournoyer. The 23” x 41” display features enlarged and matted stamps set above and below, with the first day cover centralized along with an uncut stamp sheet and metal plaque listing the particulars including the 1997 date. Six have signed the display’s reverse in black marker including Cournoyer, Henderson, Savard, Mahovlich, Ellis and Vladislav Tretiak. The 1972 replica jersey has Cournoyer’s “12” over the reverse, with 5 signing within and above the team crest with Cournoyer, Henderson, Savard, Mahovlich and Ron Ellis, with “Team Canada 1972” handwritten over the right breast. An LOA signed by Yvan Cournoyer will accompany.
The display remains in wonderful condition, with the top of the backing paper pushed-in along the top of the beginning of the Cournoyer signature, with a very slight warp to the frame itself. The XL jersey shows light wear, with the signatures displaying well.
